Celebrating Earth Day 2002

Earth Elders of Sonoma County
invite you to an
EARTH WALK
celebrating 5 billion years of
Earth's presence in the Universe

Sunday, April 21, 2002, 2 p.m.–4 p.m.
Luther Burbank's Experimental Farm
7781 Bodega Avenue, Sebastopol, CA

The Earth Walk will be narrated by Steve Fowler, one of last year's Next Generation honorees. The Earth Walk is designed to promote a sense of the awesomeness of the time/space of the universe and the place of humankind in Earth's history. Those who attend the Earth Walk program may participate as silent witnesses as the narration commemorating key events in our planet's unfolding evolutionary story is read. Following the narration and ceremony, everyone will be invited to walk the Earth spiral themselves.

We invite you to join us this year in honoring Earth. Today, as perhaps never before in the history of life on the planet, there is serous question as to the ability of the planet to continue to sustain life for future generations of all beings. This gathering will be an opportunity for us to come together to honor peace and well-being for all life on Earth — and a somber acknowledging of man's role in shaping the future of life on Earth — for good or ill.
